The aerospace giant shifts its Defense, Space & Security headquarters back to Missouri after nearly a decade in Virginia.
In a major corporate shift, Boeing announced it is relocating its Defense, Space & Security headquarters from Arlington, Virginia, back to St. Louis, Missouri. The move comes just weeks after Democrat Abigail Spanberger took office, succeeding Republican Glenn Youngkin.
Boeing said the decision underscores leadership’s commitment to being closer to the teams “designing, producing and delivering vital defense and space products and capabilities” for US and global customers.
The defense unit’s headquarters will leave Arlington — where it had been based since 2017 — and return to St. Louis, long considered the heart of Boeing’s military aircraft operations. The company emphasized it is moving forward with a multi-billion-dollar investment in what it described as “the world’s most advanced combat aircraft production facilities,” including major upgrades in St. Louis.
