Professor Moshe Cohen-Elya, a constitutional law expert and former left-wing activist, has undergone a political shift since October 7. 

He argues that Israel's judiciary and certain left-wing organizations have undermined democracy by using legal mechanisms to entrench their power. As a result, he is calling on the Trump administration to impose crippling sanctions on specific Israeli Supreme Court justices and left-wing groups.

He draws a parallel between the Israeli judiciary and what he sees as Biden’s use of the U.S. legal system to target Trump and his allies. Trump, he notes, has already begun purging "deep state" actors in the U.S. and imposing harsh sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) after it issued arrest warrants for Israeli leaders.
