Germans in talks with Syria to return hundreds of thousands of refugees back

The German "Bild": The German government is in negotiations with the new Syrian regime with the aim of "sending" hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees residing in Germany back to Syria.

According to Bild, there are approximately 974,000 Syrian refugees in Germany, of whom 512,000 receive an average monthly allowance of 664 euros, which costs German taxpayers more than 4 billion euros a year in direct payments.

Representatives from the German government are planning a visit to Damascus in this context.

Syria, for its part, is asking Germany for investment in development in Syria in return.
