A new i24NEWS investigation reveals that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara personally prevented key information regarding the Military Advocate General case from being delivered to Lahav 433.
Lahav 433 is often described as Israel’s equivalent of the FBI — the elite national investigative unit of the Israel Police.
According to the report, she later intervened in determining which specific police official would be allowed to handle the investigation. The findings indicate that the Chief of Staff’s office had arranged an urgent meeting with the head of Lahav 433 after receiving early details about the prosecutor’s alleged involvement — but the Attorney General instructed the Chief of Staff not to approach the police, insisting the matter remained under her authority and that she would manage it herself.
These revelations point to an extraordinary level of intervention at the highest legal levels, raising significant questions about oversight, transparency, and the possible obstruction of an inquiry with major implications for the IDF and the security establishment. The report describes a chain of actions in which critical evidence was withheld from investigators and police involvement was actively delayed.
