IDF forces led by Division 36 in the Northern Command have completed a major operation in southern Lebanon, establishing operational control over the Beaufort Ridge and the Saluki stream area.
According to the IDF statement, Division 36 now controls the Beaufort Ridge, a key geographic asset that Hezbollah used as a central command, observation and fire-control area against communities in the Galilee Panhandle and Metula.
The operation was planned over a long period and approved by the IDF Chief of Staff after an organized battle procedure and detailed operational preparations.
The IDF said Hezbollah had built an Iranian-backed infrastructure in the area, serving as a significant command-and-control center above and below ground. Since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion, more than 400 launches were fired from this area alone.
