The villa, located in Omer, was purchased for 6 million shekels ($1.8 million) by members of Haniyeh’s extended family after he was assassinated in Tehran on July 31, 2024.

While preaching “resistance” from his luxury accommodations in Qatar and Turkey, Haniyeh amassed an estimated fortune of $2.5 billion to $4 billion through tunnel taxation and real estate investments, even as 65 percent of Gaza’s population lived below the poverty line.

The previous owner of the villa did not deny selling the property to Haniyeh’s family. However, he insisted the relatives in question are “law-abiding” and not connected to terrorism.
