The naming ceremony of the IDF's sixth submarine took place today (Tuesday), at the "Kiel" shipyard in Germany, presided over by the Commander of the Navy, Major General David Sa'ar Selma, Deputy Director and Head of the Defense Procurement Directorate (Directorate) at the Ministry of Defense, Zeev Landau, Israel's ambassador to Germany, Ron Proshaur, along with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Navy, who are accompanying the project with the representatives of the shipyard in Germany.

Along with the naming ceremony for the submarine, the beginning of the construction process of the IDF's future submarines, of the "Dakar" model, which are to be delivered at the beginning of the next decade, was noted.

As part of the ceremony, the official name of the submarine was awarded - AHI (navy ship) "Dragon".
