Walla added that fellow British musician Sam Smith and US rapper Machine Gun Kelly will arrive a day earlier to perform as part of a planned two-day “festival of music.”

Israel has for years been confronting a pro-Palestinian campaign calling for boycotts, divestment, and sanctions. Some artists have pulled out after pressure from boycott campaigners, while others have shrugged off calls to stay away including Justin Bieber, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Celine Dion.
