The claims that the Israeli government ordered the IDF to sacrifice the hostages in Operation Gideon's Chariots, and the opposite reality in practice:
In the areas where the IDF operated in recent months in the southern Gaza Strip, there were demarcated areas that the IDF avoided entering or bombing due to the assessment that hostages were being held there. In these areas, Hamas's active forces realized that they were largely immune.
They not only engaged in guarding the hostage but also tried to harm the surrounding IDF soldiers while relying on that safe space.
From one of the areas, terrorists emerged who managed to repeatedly harm the soldiers and return unharmed to the place where bombing was prohibited, including some of the deadliest attacks.
