SYRIA: US-Allied SDF loses important battle by Iranian militias
During the night, fierce battles took place between the Arab tribes in the Deir ez-Zor district (supported by Iran and Syria) and the SDF militia (the Syrian Democratic Forces supported by the US).
Most of the fighting was concentrated in the town of Abu Hammam where the tribes took over the oil refinery - a stone's throw from the American army base in the Al-Omar oil field.
According to the reports, the SDF militia has dead, wounded and prisoners - most of them fled the area.
A lot of loot in the form of weapons and vehicles belonging to the SDF were seized by the Arab tribes.
