Meet Zahar Jabarin - the successor and replacement of Salah al-Aruri (who was eliminated in Beirut by the IDF in January 2024) and in my opinion the most powerful man in Hamas today.
- Born in 1968 in the village of Salfit, west of Ariel. Has been active in Hamas since 1980 and is the one who recruited Yahya Ayash to the ranks of Hamas.
- Sat in prison in Israel for almost 20 years until his release in 2011 and his exile to Turkey where he slowly climbed the ladder again until he was appointed as Saleh Al-Arori's deputy.
- Jabarin operated from Turkey (and still serves as the head of the Hamas finance ministry). As part of his position, he manages the annual budget of Hamas in the amount of tens of millions of dollars, is responsible for all Hamas income from various sources in the world and is responsible for locating additional funding sources for Hamas.
