Dan Burmawi, an Arab writer and bestselling author, says that many in the Arab world were raised to believe Israel was a weak and fragile state that could be eliminated within hours, held together only by US support.
He argues that this perception has shifted in recent years, as ideological battles now focus less on military confrontation and more on shaping global opinion.
According to Burmawi, groups seeking Israel’s destruction are working to weaken the US-Israel relationship by reframing the conflict. He claims that Israel’s self-defense and broader Western efforts against Islamist terrorism are increasingly portrayed as the root cause of violence, rather than responses to it.
He warns that this narrative, if widely accepted, could isolate Israel internationally while simultaneously legitimizing hostility toward it under the guise of political activism.
