Hours after ceasefire went into effect, Iran launches ballistic missile at Israel, despite pleas from President Trump not to violate the truce.
Iran violated an hours-old truce with Israel Tuesday morning, launching a ballistic missile at the Jewish state, following a series of barrages earlier in the morning.
Defense Minister Israel Katz vowed Israel would respond “forcefully” to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire, threatening “high-intensity strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.”
“In light of Iran’s blatant violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the United States—through its launch of missiles toward Israel—and in accordance with the policy set by the Israeli government to respond forcefully to any violation,” Katz announced.
“I have instructed the IDF, in coordination with the Prime Minister, to continue the high-intensity operation striking regime targets and terror infrastructure in Tehran, following up on yesterday’s actions.”
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich (Religious Zionist Party) threatened on X that Israel would retaliate for Tuesday’s attack, and make “Tehran quake.”
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir issued a statement Tuesday morning via the IDF’s Spokesperson’s Office, pledging the hit back “with force.”
