Ironic how Iran whose Islamic terrorists intimidated so many governments is now being intimidated by Islamic terrorists.
Hizb ut-Tahrir, a volent terror group aligned with the new regime in Syria issued a statement warning against Iran’s involvement in the country and responding to remarks made by Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s National Security Council and a close associate of Ali Khamenei.
According to the report, Larijani stated that the renewal of relations between Iran and Syria could be possible in the future, if the Syrian government were to take appropriate steps. He said that the sudden fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime surprised everyone, but Iran would assess its future relations based on developments on the ground. He also added that Tehran rejects Israel’s growing intervention in the Syrian arena.
In response, Hizb ut-Tahrir accused Larijani of arrogance and recalled that for years Iran had provided military, financial, and logistical support to Assad. In their statement, they claimed that Tehran brought in mercenaries from across the world and prevented the fall of Assad’s regime by “dirty means,” out of fear of the rise of a Caliphate that would overthrow the regime and strip Iran of its foothold in Syria.
