It’s Tuesday, November 18, and Israeli authorities are praising a United Nations vote. Yes, you read that right.
After the UN Security Council approved Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza yesterday, Benjamin Netanyahu said the president’s plan—now endorsed by the UNSC—“will lead to peace and prosperity because it insists upon full demilitarization, disarmament and the deradicalization of Gaza.”
It will also, according to Bibi, “lead to further integration of Israel and its neighbors as well as expansion of Abraham Accords,” which will ultimately “help lead the region to peace and prosperity.” Even President Isaac Herzog agreed with the prime minister, hailing the vote as “a historic diplomatic achievement by President Trump.”
Ok, but what about Hamas? Surprise surprise—it rejected the vote, claiming it doesn’t meet the Palestinians’ demands.
