BREAKING: IRGC officer killed: By Protesters - or the Mossad?

Official Iranian media: Reza Almasi, an officer in the Revolutionary Guards with the rank of ekid (equivalent to colonel) was killed by rioters in the Bukhan area, Azerbaijan province in northwestern Iran.

That was the "official" claim, but is Iran trying to "kill" two birds with one stone, meaning: not giving "Mossad" the credit, and "blaming" it on their more current enemy - the Iranian people?
