Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel will maintain its presence on the Hermon ridge and ensure that the southwest region of Syria bordering Israel remains a demilitarized zone.
He emphasized that Israel will continue to protect the Druze communities living in the border area, reinforcing the country’s commitment to safeguarding its allies in the region.
Netanyahu further revealed that Iran had planned to deploy two military divisions to aid the Assad regime in Syria but was forced to retreat following Israeli actions.
“We made them turn back,” Netanyahu said, underscoring Israel’s determination to prevent Tehran from expanding its military footprint near Israeli territory.
