German prosecutors say Hamas operatives prepared a terrorist attack against Jewish and Israeli targets in Europe to coincide with the second anniversary of the October 7 massacre.
Federal Prosecutor General Jens Rommel revealed that investigators found a pre-recorded video claiming responsibility for the planned attack.
The discovery strengthened authorities’ assessment that the suspects had moved beyond general preparations and were working toward a concrete terrorist operation.
Nine suspected Hamas operatives or supporters were arrested across Europe. The first three were detained in Berlin on October 1, 2025, while allegedly meeting to transfer weapons—just days before the planned attack date. Investigators say the network had transported and stored firearms and ammunition since at least the summer of 2025.
