Colorado‑based imam Dr. Karim Abu Zaid said in a Friday, July 4, 2025 sermon at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, Illinois that the Western world has realized the Middle East revolves around faith and religion, and that the Zionist State of Israel has been planted in a region of Muslims and Christians.

This led them, he said, to "blend" Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and "spices" from other faiths to create what he called the "Abrahamic faith."

Abu Zaid stated that Muslims are not like the Western world and that tolerance does not mean compromising their belief system in order to appear tolerant.
