Hezbollah obtained new, high-quality and advanced weapons from Iran, and this is reflected in the escalation of events in the last few days on the southern Lebanese front - so claims the Lebanese news site Aljanoubia.
According to the site, Hezbollah is operating new types of anti-tank missiles and surface-to-air missiles in conflicts with Israel, including the Diamond-Almas-Diamond missile, and the missile that brought down the Hermes 450 UAV.
Diplomatic sources told the Kuwaiti Al-Jarida newspaper that Hezbollah's ability to shoot down the drone caused great anger within Israel and American fear of a deterioration into an all-out conflict, which caused the American State Department to repeat its reservations about any expansion of the scope of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
Information indicates that Israel is looking for a way to respond to the downing of the drone, in particular it is considering attacking Hezbollah's strategic targets related to air defense weapons, and that the Baalbek attack last week falls into this category.
There is also a fear that Israel will attack the Harmel area, where Hezbollah is believed to have established an airport military and warehouses containing advanced aerial weapons and drones.
The level of anger in Israel rose when Hezbollah repeatedly bombed the Miron air base twice in one day, in light of information that Hezbollah had established a new bank of targets that it was going to attack and there is a fear that the conflict, which has been going on since October 8, 2023, will get out of control.
