IDF fighters, the Shin Bet and IOS undercover agents this morning worked to arrest wanted persons suspected of carrying out the shooting attack in Avni Hefetz this week; during the exchange of fire two suspects who tried to escape were shot and killed.

In a joint operation by the YAMAM, the IDF, and the Security Forces, and under the intelligence direction of the Shin Bet, this morning (Saturday) Hamza Hariush and Samer Shafi, who were involved in the shooting attack carried out in Avni Hefetz, were killed in an exchange of fire on the 2 In May 2023, during which an Israeli citizen was injured and vehicles were damaged.

The two were shot and killed after trying to escape from the scene. No casualties to our forces.

In addition, 2 other suspects were arrested for involvement in the attack: Muhammad Abdelfatah Balidi, 21 years old from Tulkarem and Ibrahim Ahmed Kasba, 19 years old from Tulkarem who was injured when he tried to escape. The two were transferred for further investigation by the Shin Bet.

During the searches of the building where they were hiding and the wanted persons, an amlach including 2 M16 rifles, military vests and cartridges was seized.
