For the first time in the history of Islamic Jihad, an African — Abdul Qadir Mumin, a Somali national — has been elevated to the rank of overall head of ISIS worldwide.
Mumin, who currently leads ISIS operations in Somalia, reportedly has a wife and three children living safely in the United Kingdom — all while he directs a terror network responsible for mass slaughter across the Middle East and Africa.
According to The Daily Mail, Mumin lived in Britain from 2003 to 2010, obtained UK citizenship, and delivered extremist sermons at London mosques, placing him on MI5’s radar. During this period, he married British-Somali citizen Muna Abdule and fathered two daughters and a son. Their marriage is said to have been a traditional Islamic ceremony held when Mumin was 48 and Abdule was just 19.
Once his radicalization activities drew the attention of British security services, Mumin fled to Somalia and later rose through the ranks of ISIS. His family, however, reportedly continues to reside comfortably in the UK — shielded by Western legal protections while taxpayers unknowingly support the household of a man now rumored to be ISIS’s global leader.
