Khaled Abu Toameh, a researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, exposes the depth of the cynicism of the Hamas leadership, which is waging a bloody war from luxury villas far from the Gaza Strip.Β
According to him, “Hamas’ political leaders, billionaires financed by the mullahs of Iran and the rulers of Qatar, live in several Arab and Muslim countries,” while the residents of Gaza “have to stand in line and risk being shot by Hamas terrorists for trying to receive food from a humanitarian organization.”
Abu Toameh states clearly: “Hamas leaders are in no hurry to accept any deal. Not out of principle, but because their own lives are not in danger.”
In fact, as long as Tehran does not dictate otherwise, a ceasefire is not on the agenda. "Hamas leaders will never agree to a ceasefire without the prior approval of the Iranian regime," writes Abu Toameh, warning that Iran has no intention of ending the fighting either:
"They want the war to continue because it distracts attention from Iran's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons." In the background, Hamas continues to sacrifice its own people in the name of a deadly ideology:
"The goal, the elimination of Israel, justifies the means even if they include turning women and children into martyrs."
NEWSRAEL: In the Middle east they say, "Iran will fight to the last Arab".
