The White House unveils a sweeping economic deal reshaping trade ties between Washington and New Delhi.
The White House has announced a new trade agreement between the United States and India, marking one of the most significant economic understandings between the two countries in recent years.
According to details released from the agreement, India will reduce tariffs on a wide range of American industrial and agricultural products, while easing regulatory barriers in key sectors.
Under the deal, the US will impose a tariff of approximately 18% on Indian products, with the stated intention of removing tariffs on selected goods at a later stage. At the same time, Washington will eliminate American tariffs on airplane parts and grant India tariff preferences in the automotive sector.
