Hamas issued a message of congratulations following the reported selection of Ayatollah Sayyed Mostafa Khamenei, the son of Iran’s long-time ruler, as the new leader of the Islamic Revolution.
In its statement, Hamas offered what it called its “sincere congratulations” to Iran and expressed hope that the new leader would succeed in achieving the Iranian people’s aspirations and in defeating what it described as the “invasion of Israel and the US.”
The statement also framed the conflict as a struggle against what it called “colonialism” seeking to bend Iran’s will.
The message underscores the close relationship between Hamas and the Iranian regime, which has for years provided the terrorist organization with funding, weapons, and training as part of its broader regional strategy against Israel.
