Iran is gone - Turkey is coming...

According to Turkish sources, Erdogan plans to visit Damascus on December 27 and hold Friday prayers at the Umayyad Mosque, a symbolic event that will make the Turkish leader feel like an Ottoman ruler from days gone by.

Turkey intends to help Hayat Tahrir al-Sham leader Ahmed al-Sharaa establish a standing army of 300,000 soldiers.

The army will be established with the assistance of Turkish military advisors and experts.

Ankara and Damascus are considering a joint military operation in Syria against Kurdish forces if they refuse to lay down their arms and join the Syrian army.
