The IDF conducted a wave of strikes in Beirut targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, including an underground weapon storage facility and additional command centers
The IDF also targeted a site it said was used by Hezbollah for terrorist attacks, intelligence gathering, and propaganda.
The military said the infrastructure was intended to be used for attacks against IDF troops and Israeli residents. Prior to the strikes, the IDF said it took steps to reduce the risk of harm to civilians, including advance warnings, the use of precision munitions, and aerial surveillance.
The IDF said it is operating against Hezbollah following the organization’s decision to deliberately attack Israel in defense of the Iranian terrorist regime. The military stated it will not tolerate harm to residents of the State of Israel.
