IDF Intelligence commander: Nasrallah is close to making a mistake that will drag the region into a major war

The head of the National Security Agency Major General Aharon Haliva addressed this evening (Monday) the possibility of an escalation with Hezbollah. Haliva said that there is a possibility that the organization's attempts to harm Israel will lead to an escalation in the near future.

"With Hassan Nasrallah, after the mistake he made in 2006, there is the beginning of an understanding that the equations can be stretched with the State of Israel. The story of the terrorist at the Megiddo Junction is not a one-off story, unfortunately, and Nasrallah is close to making a mistake that could degenerate the region into a major war," Haliva said.

The general added that escalation in the north is also possible from the Syrian front: "I add to this the growing self-confidence of President Assad. All of these create a high potential for escalation in the region and we need to be prepared for our enemies not to understand the message we are conveying. Make no mistake, we are ready to use force and we will do everything Whatever is possible and whatever is required to bring peace." Haliva said these things as part of the Herzliya conference.
