WATCH: Harvard rejects Trump administration's demand for changes

High-ranking officials at Harvard University yesterday rejected demands from the Trump administration to make sweeping changes to its administrative structure, admissions policies and hiring practices.

Harvard is the first academic institution in the United States to oppose government efforts to make changes.

The Trump administration recently announced that it is reviewing contracts and grants worth $9 billion given to the university.

The demand for changes comes in the wake of violent protests that erupted at Harvard last year, amid the war in Gaza.
