PMr Netanyahu to American Senators Graham and Blumenthal: "Unlike during the Holocaust - today we are fighting back like lions, with the support of the American administration and people."
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met today with a bipartisan delegation of American senators led by Senator Lindsey Graham, at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "I greatly appreciate the visit of Senators Graham and Blumenthal on Memorial Day on October 7th. It was the most terrible attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust. But unlike during the Holocaust, today we are fighting back. We are fighting like lions, with the support of the American government and the American people and their representatives here. I want to thank you both for your great support for Israel during the war.'
Senator Richard Blumenthal: "Thank you Prime Minister. We are honored to be with you, and we appreciate that you gave us the opportunity to speak with you on such a difficult and painful day for your country and the people of Israel. All of us in the United States feel deeply that this was a despicable and inhumane attack on the Jewish people. We came here to say that we support Israel. Israel has the right to defend itself."
Senator Lindsey Graham: "The reason people were killed on October 7 was because they were Jews. We have watched this movie before. We don't want to watch movies like this anymore. You said something that really hit me: no one should be a refugee in their own country. They're coming back to the north, friends. They return to the kibbutzim. Whatever it takes to get your people back to their homes - do it.
To my friends in France: You got it the other way around. You need to increase aid to Israel, because the same people who want to destroy Israel, also want to destroy the French people. You are fighting our war. We are going to help you with your military needs.
The reason the Twin Towers fell was not a hurricane. It was because radical Islamic terrorists killed 3,000 of our people in one day, and they would have killed us all if they could. If Iran has nuclear weapons, they will use them. The question will be against whom will they use it first - against us, against Israel, Saudi Arabia? We can never allow that. We will help you.'
