A photo from 2016 has resurfaced showing the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza wearing a Hamas uniform and standing with senior members of the terror group, according to NGO Monitor.

The image shows Hussam Abu Safiya at a gathering of Hamas officials, including commanders from the group’s Military Medical Services and National Security Forces. Palestinian media and the Medical Medical Services have identified Abu Safiya as holding the rank of colonel in the Hamas-affiliated body.

The Military Medical Services operates separately from Hamas’s armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, but its members took part in the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack on southern Israel, according to Israeli authorities.
