The Israeli government announced the approval of a “comprehensive five-year plan” aimed at “promoting economic and social development” in Druze communities in the Golan Heights, and in Druze and Circassian cities in the Galilee and Carmel, between 2025-2029.
The government said on Sunday that the plan “aims to provide a broad response to the needs of the Druze and Circassian communities, and focuses on a number of key areas, such as housing support, infrastructure development, strengthening local authority budgets and improving education.”
The budget allocated for this plan amounts to 3.9 billion shekels, or about $1.1 billion, of which 2.6 billion shekels is additional funding allocated to carry out various development projects.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said of the plan: “We have a deep commitment to our brothers in the Druze community, and we will work to promote their integration into society and support their economic and social progress.”
