Over the past 24 hours, IDF forces in the Southern Command, regular and reserve, from Divisions 98, 162, and 36, began a broad ground operation throughout Gaza City as part of Operation Gideon's Chariots II.
Gaza Division forces (143) operate in the security area opposite the western Negev settlements and carry out offensive activities in the Rafah and Khan Yunis areas, and Division 99 forces operate in the northern Gaza Strip area.
The offensive activity is broad, intensified, and constitutes a direct continuation of the achievements of Operation Gideon's Chariots, with the aim of achieving the goals of the war in the Gaza Strip and deepening the achievements in the framework of the fighting.
The forces' activity began in accordance with the operational plan and will expand in accordance with the assessment of the situation.
In the past week, the Air Force attacked more than 850 terrorist targets and hundreds of terrorists in Gaza City, in order to damage Hamas' terrorist infrastructure and prepare the area for the entry of forces.
