Demonstrators, including Iranian and Jewish activists, gathered outside the main headquarters of the BBC in London to protest what they described as biased and distorted coverage of the ongoing uprising in Iran.
According to participants, the protest was driven by frustration over what they see as insufficient and selective reporting. Demonstrators criticized the network for focusing primarily on Iran’s economic difficulties while largely ignoring calls for the overthrow of the regime and its replacement. Protesters also pointed to what they described as a lack of recognition for Reza Pahlavi, whom many demonstrators view as a unifying alternative figure for Iran’s future.
Additional criticism was directed at what protesters called “soft” reporting on human rights abuses, including the killing of demonstrators and the violent suppression of protests currently taking place across Iran. They argued that the severity of the regime’s actions is not being fully conveyed to British audiences.
During the demonstration, protesters were heard chanting slogans such as “Ayatollah BBC, shame on you,” while waving Iranian and Israeli flags side by side. Organizers said the display was meant to highlight solidarity between communities and opposition to the Iranian regime.
