The Israel Police explained the agreement is intended to strengthen and honor the police officers who operate on the front lines of security and public order in the city of Jerusalem.
A special grant agreement was signed on Sunday between the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Security and the Israel Police. As part of the agreement, grants totaling 135 million Shekels ($37.4 million) will be allocated to police officers serving in core positions in the Jerusalem District for the next three years.
The Israel Police explained the agreement is intended to strengthen and honor the police officers who operate on the front lines of security and public order in the city of Jerusalem – police officers who serve in intensive operational roles, sometimes under real threat and while dealing daily with complex security challenges.
As part of the agreement, core police officers will be granted periodic grants, amounting to tens of thousands of shekels per police officer. This is a precedent-setting move that is expected to have a significant impact on strengthening the operational structure of the Jerusalem District and contribute to the stability of its manpower.
