REPORT: Israeli commando force landed near Hezbollah bases in southern Syria and destroyed them with their contents
The Lebanese Al-Mayadeen network, which is close to Hezbollah, quoted the Israeli Broadcasting Authority as reporting that Israeli commando forces were landed from the air using attack helicopters in “Tel al-Mal”, in the northern rural area of Daraa province, at the same time as an Israeli ground force penetrated the southern rural area of Quneitra province in southwestern Syria.
In the same context, Israel announced the start of mine clearance in the border strip in the Golan.
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the mission of the commandos who participated in the operation was to search military camps that had previously housed Iranian militias and Hezbollah forces, and that the Israeli forces blew up ammunition depots and destroyed what remained of these military camps.
Sources familiar with the matter have already said in the recent past that IDF operations along the Golan border, since the Assad regime fell, have included several commando operations in which the forces reached military targets deep inside Syrian territory, which could one day endanger Israel, and destroyed them.
After each such operation, the Israeli forces returned to Israeli territory without any casualties being reported.
