Weapon of fallen IDF officer Hadar Goldin found on Rafah commander’s body

Following the IDF raid on the hospital nearly six months ago, Goldin’s family was informed that the weapon was in Israeli hands.

The weapon of the late IDF officer Hadar Goldin, who was killed and abducted in Rafah during Operation Protective Edge in 2014, was discovered on the body of Rafah Brigade commander Mohammad Shabana after his elimination last May at the European Hospital in Khan Younis — alongside senior Hamas figure Mohammad Sinwar.

Now, after its official return, the Yahalom combat engineering unit is expected to transfer the rifle to a museum, in coordination with the family, as a symbol of remembrance and closure.
