Israeli PM Condemns Vandalizing of Synagogue
Walla! News 01.08.2021
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett denounced Sunday morning the vandalism act in a synagogue in the predominantly ultra-Orthodox Bnei Brak.
He branded the debauching of swastikas and scattering of photos of Shira Banki -- who was murdered by a religious Jewish man in a gay pride parade in Jerusalem -- “a despicable act” and promised to bring the suspects to justice.
In footage that was obtained by Walla! News, a man and a woman, who according to members of the synagogue are behind the act, are seen walking away from the scene before the incident, carrying a bag.
The worshipers of the “Young Israel” synagogue arrived at the place on Saturday morning and discovered what had occurred overnight. The police opened an investigation into the case.
