Japan is calling on the international community to wake up to what it calls: "the greatest test since the end of World War II." In the annual assessment published this week by the Japanese Ministry of Defense, deep concern was expressed regarding China's military expansion and its aggressive actions in the Indo-Pacific region.

According to the Japanese Ministry of Defense, China is rapidly increasing its security expenditures, enhancing its military strength both in size and capability.

The report also highlights China's growing activity in the East China Sea, including near the disputed Senkaku Islands, as well as in the Pacific Ocean.
