Imagine the surprise that awaited IDF troops yesterday during a training session in Syria!
"We entered a broken and abandoned building right inside Syria and suddenly I notice on the walls these inscriptions from the Yom Kippur War 50 years ago.
The building has been broken for decades and according to the inscriptions it was used as a residence for our forces, which means it is definitely from decades ago and could not have been used as a proper building in recent years"

Danny Arusi, one of the fighters whose names were written on the walls - previously wrote about his stay in Syria as part of the War Diary on a Yom Kippur project on New Channel N12. Here is what he wrote:
"We were in a place called Sebsaba in the Syrian enclave opposite Tel Hara.
Every morning the commander would come from the headquarters to bring the soldiers porridge in a huge pot that had to be enough for the entire battery.
The commander would make a long and difficult journey to pamper us.
There were mornings when he didn't come because he got stuck in the deep mud on the way.
Every morning the question was asked whether he would come or not. The conditions were unbearable. We lived in tents in harsh winter conditions. Every morning we would go out to the position to shoot at the targets that were there.
Towards evening we would return to the wet tents that were in the mud.
Food was scarce. Every few days a shower truck would arrive. It was a very happy event.
Before the truck arrived we would shower with water jugs, even then the water was scarce."
