On June 9, 1982, the Israeli Air Force launched one of the boldest air operations known to the IDF, which included the destruction of the entire large and modern Syrian army missile system in Lebanon - in one attack. 19 batteries of surface-to-air missiles, and dozens of Syrian army aircraft were shot down without loss to the Israeli Air Force.
