Israeli startup Moonshot Space emerged from stealth, announcing it has raised $12 million and is developing an electromagnetic launcher that could reshape space logistics and hypersonic testing.
Founded in 2024 by former senior Israeli government and defense officials, the Caesarea-based company is building a high-power accelerator capable of propelling payloads to hypersonic speeds of up to 8 km per second using electricity instead of chemical fuels.
Moonshot says the technology could enable low-cost cargo deliveries to orbital assets and accelerate hypersonic research by offering multiple daily tests at a fraction of current costs.
