Lebanese General (Ret.) Yaarob Sakhr said in a November 6 interview that Lebanon must join the “great train of development” moving across the Middle East instead of isolating itself on the battlefield.
He argued that the Arab-Israeli conflict is effectively over and that Israel holds the advantage thanks to strong US backing. According to Sakhr, Arab states have abandoned the path of confrontation, and Lebanon should not continue fighting alone.
NEWSRAEL: WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT
Sakhr’s remarks reflect a growing recognition in the region that Israel’s position has strengthened dramatically with US support, while Lebanon continues to suffer under Hezbollah’s decisions. His comments underscore a wider Middle Eastern shift toward development and away from endless conflict — a shift Lebanon risks missing if it remains tied to confrontation.
