A massive demonstration in Munich drew an estimated quarter of a million people protesting the regime in Iran and expressing support for the ongoing protest movement that has faced brutal repression.
The rally followed a public call by Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed Shah, urging supporters and members of the Iranian diaspora to take to the streets in solidarity with demonstrators inside Iran.
Participants waved Iranian flags from the pre-1979 era and chanted slogans against the Islamic Republic, calling for regime change and democratic governance. Organizers described the turnout as one of the largest gatherings of Iranians abroad in recent years, underscoring the growing international dimension of opposition to Tehran’s leadership.
The protest comes amid continued unrest inside Iran, where security forces have been accused of violently suppressing dissent. Demonstrators in Munich said their goal was to amplify the voices of those inside the country who face arrest and intimidation for speaking out.
