WATCH: CENTCOM disables second tanker violating Iran oil blockade
US Central Command announced that American forces disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman late on June 9, marking the second such incident in two consecutive days.
According to CENTCOM, the Palau-flagged tanker M/T Settebello was attempting to transport oil from Iran in violation of the ongoing maritime blockade.
At 11:14 p.m., a US aircraft fired a precision-guided munition at the vessel’s engine room after its crew repeatedly ignored instructions issued by American forces.
The strike disabled the tanker and prevented it from continuing its mission.
