Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa declared that the security and interests of his country stand above all else, with no room for compromise.
In a strong statement, he emphasized that Bahrain will take firm action against individuals inside the kingdom who support Iran.
The king made clear that such individuals will not be granted citizenship, and warned that authorities are prepared to act decisively—even using live fire if necessary—against those opposing a potential war effort against Iran.
Bahrain, a small but strategically significant Gulf state, has a population of roughly 2 million people. More than one-third are Shiites, many of whom have roots in Iran or neighboring countries—making internal tensions over Iran a particularly sensitive issue.
