Contrary to what one might think, the Palestinians are under great pressure from American President Joe Biden's announcement about the establishment of a pier on the shores of the Gaza Strip for aid purposes.
Sources in the Palestinian Authority claim that among senior officials there is a "real" fear that the proposed sea corridor will be used to increase the emigration of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip by sea "and thereby empty the Strip of its population."
The sources claim that among the senior officials of the Palestinian Authority there is a fear that the establishment of a temporary port in Gaza will be a prelude to the implementation of the plan to "displace" Palestinians.
According to the same sources, the Palestinian Authority does not currently have American guarantees regarding the nature of the work on the sea corridor, which increases the concerns. It was learned that the Ramallah Authority will ask the US for guarantees that the corridor will be designated for humanitarian aid only.
