Question of the Day: Was Israel wrong to attack Beirut?
Hezbollah has repeatedly used Beirut, especially its stronghold in Dahiyeh, as a command center and base for terrorist activity while the Lebanese government has failed to restrain it.
FOR: Israel was right to strike Beirut if Hezbollah was using the city to plan attacks, direct its forces, or store weapons. Israel cannot allow its fight against Hezbollah to be tied to the Iran deal.
AGAINST: Israel should avoid striking Beirut because such attacks could cause civilian casualties, increase international pressure, and trigger a broader war with Lebanon, or even with Iran.
