The United States said it may supply Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles. Tomahawk missiles can reach distances of up to 2,500 km and could strike Moscow if launched from Ukrainian territory.
Russia responded that the central question is who would operate the missiles — Ukraine or American personnel. Another question is who would choose the targets: American forces or Ukrainians.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously warned that European countries would, in his view, be seen as direct parties to the conflict if they provide intelligence and select targets inside Russia on Ukraine’s behalf.
After Russian drones crossed into Poland and Romania, NATO countries now plan to strengthen their borders as well as areas that contain energy infrastructure. European Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius said yesterday that the defense of countries bordering Russia is “clearly at the top of the priority list.”
