US urges Lebanon to arrest and deliver Syrian General in hiding
The US has asked the Lebanese government to arrest Syrian Major General Jamil Al-Hassan, who is hiding in Lebanon, according to the Americans.
Al-Hassan served as an intelligence officer for the Syrian Air Force during the civil war and is wanted for the murder of tens of thousands of Syrian civilians in aerial bombings carried out under his direction.
He has not been on active duty for several years and there are additional arrest warrants against him from France and Germany for the same war crimes.
